Clinical Microneedling Treatment
We offer the Dp DERM 4 microneedling system which is FDA cleared for the treatment of facial acne scars as well as the only device on the market with a dedicated Scar Treatment ("ST") setting. Through micro-needling we can also treat a wide array of skin concerns such as improving skin texture, hyperpigmentation, decreasing fine lines and increasing skin elasticity. Three to four treatments spaced every six to eight weeks are recommended to see results.
During the skin healing process minor itching, hives, flaking, or redness may occur. If symptoms persist, please call your practitioner. Do not pick, squeeze, or agitate skin during the recovery period.
You will need to avoid the following activities for up to 2 days following a clinical microneedling procedure: direct ultraviolet exposure (direct sun and tanning bed), intensive cardio exercise, excessively hot showers, bathing, spas or sauna, spray or self-tanning, swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean, and tattooing . It is also recommended to avoid further clinical treatments (including, but not limited to): microdermabrasion, laser, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, muscle relaxant injections, and dermal fillers for at least two weeks following microneeding.
Please avoid the use of skin care products containing any of the following active resurfacing ingredients for up to 5 days following a clinical microneedling procedure: Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) (including but not limited to) glycolic, lactic or malic acid, Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) including salicylic acid, Benzoyl peroxide, Retinoids (including but not limited to) tretinoin and retinol, Hydroquinone, High levels of Kojic or azelaic acid, Alcohol (including but not limited to) isopropyl alcohol/de-natured alcohol/rubbing alcohol.
